Well I am coming up 53 in a few months so I reckon I was 19 or 20 when I saw a Royal Wedding so called US Spec bike for sale new in an old school dealers in Southsea, UK. What really caught my eye was the paint job with the chrome on the tank and the blue smoke finish. I wanted one but needless to say that was impossible at the time as I was an impoverished student. They very rarely come up for sale. I bought mine about 12 years ago from a chap who only owned it for a year and was working abroad. He had lost his garage and it was in his mothers garden! The previous owner to that had owned it for many years. This particular bike featured in Classic Bike Guide in a number of articles of that long term owner riding it to different locations in the UK. He used it and fitted a big UK tank and other stuff to make it more useable. He restored back to original spec before selling it to the previous owner. I now only use it in the summer and as you can see I store it in my house during the British winter.
