Triumph Bonneville Royals
Brian C, Australia, 1981 UK Spec Royal.

Sorry it's been so long me getting these to you the pictures have been on my phone and I'm hopeless with technology so only just
got them across to my computer.
So my bike is number 144ES of the 250 it must of been an original export model as it has KM's on the stock standard speedo now
reading over 32,000K's I've had it for 8 to 9 years now, I bought it from and old guy in Penrith NSW that's about 100km's up the
blue mountains inland from Sydney he had it for years but I don't reckon he would of been the original buyer from new, I drove
over there from Adelaide (2 days drive) to buy it after hearing about it from a guy I met at the Phillip Island race track, apart
from the exhausts it's  in original condition, the exhausts corroded through so I fitted the Dunstalls they let it breath better and
sound great. I have to admit I haven't rode it for a while now not that I've fell out with it just a case of finding the time especially
with having two new bikes as well, I keep saying I'm going to sell it, put the money into something else but more to the point let
someone else take it on that will appreciate it for what it is and use it, I don't know what value to put on it, I bought it for $13000
back then and it's hard to compare it to anything on the market here, as you know it's rarer than the Silver Jubilee, Bonnie Special
or TXX, I'd even be happy for my money back if it went to the right person. I've read that after the 1969 Bonnie the Royal is the
most sort after model from a collectors view point and then it all depends on the condition of the bike, mine buy no means concourse
or showroom condition but it's also original/unrestored. So how many have you been able to track down and what's there locations
around the world, I've read different stories that of the 250 made half went to the US the rest UK & world wide then I've read
125 stayed in the UK the rest world wide, I know there were the black Royal Weddings that were for the US market only but I
don't think they are included in the original 250 LTD numbered. I hope the photos are ok for what you need if not now I've finally
figured out how to do this I could send you more.
Sorry Mike I said the number was 144 ES, when I looked back at the photo it's U144K just slightly out of shot, obviously 144UK
model I was confusing the T140ES which is on the plate but that's just for the model type electric start as you would know.
